There are three bits of information you need to access your SafeDeposits tenant account, the tenant name, DAN and DRN number. We do not send you all of these at once, you have to act to receive everything you need.

Step 1 - We send you the DRN number

Your landlord has to register your deposit within 30 working days of your tenancy beginning.

Once the funds are transferred we will confirm that we hold the funds. We will send
you a letter or an email.

If your landlord or letting agent provides us with an email address we will contact you to let you know we hold your deposit.

This email will only contain your DRN number.

You have to ACTIVATE your account to recieve your DAN number and deposit protection certificate.

If we are not provided an email address we will post you a welcome letter with the DRN number. You can activate your account through the website or by calling us, 03333 213 136.

Step 2 - Validate your account and download the Deposit protect certificate.

You will be asked to click a link within the email and activate your account. You will have to enter your email address, DRN number and your postcode. You can do this here.

The 'Download Certificate' link can also be found on the tenant log in section of our website.

Once you've confirmed the relevant details the certificate will download. This will include your DAN number. You'll be able to see all of the details for your deposit account (the amount of the deposit, property address, all tenant names, who the lead tenant is etc.).

If you do not have an email address or are experiencing difficulties in downloading your certificate you can call us on 03333 213 136.

If you don't have an email address we will ask you a few security questions over the phone to confirm your identity and we will then post out the deposit certificate to your property address.

If you do have an email but are having any technical difficulties, we can do the process over the phone and email you the deposit certificate.

Once you have all of the key pieces of information (tenant name, DAN and DRN) keep them safe until you move out.

Step 3 - logging in to your SafeDeposits account

Once your tenancy is finished you can log in here.
